Emmy winners Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash set to return to The Boys universe, sooner than originally thought.

At the 2024 comic con, Jensen Ackles himself announced that the show was currently being written, he mentioned it would be set in the fabulous fifty’s, though since the show is about an evil megacorpation rising to power, and a murder mystery, fabulous will be subjective. There is currently no set date for the show, it could be anywhere from later this year, to after The Boys final season which is slated for a 2026 release. Hopefully we won’t have to wait that long to see Mr Ackles and Ms Cash don their super suits again.

Assuming “Vought Rising” does come out after the show, we will have seen Soldier Boy before it, only without his Nazi-fling. It has been confirmed that Soldier Boy will appear and be an integral part of season V of the boys. According to Erik Kripkes own words, he felt he really hadn’t utilised Soldier Boy or Jensen Ackles to their full potential.

“You know, what we realised was we really hadn’t explored the father-son relationship much between Homelander and Soldier Boy, There’s a lot of material there, how soldier boy feels about Homelander, how Homelander feels about his dad, and so we really wanted to dig into that relationship.”– Eric Kripke, show-runner, at San Diego comic con 2024.
